
Soon, it will be time to return to Wakanda. The Hollywood Reporter scoops Black Panther 2 will begin filming in July 2021!
Originally, the sequel to 2018’s ubiquitous Black Panther was to start production in March 2021. However, the film’s star Chadwick Boseman passed away unexpectedly this past August. The movie quickly came to a screeching halt.
Disney/Marvel’s plan right now is to have Black Panther 2 start shooting in Atlanta in July. The production timeline is at least six months. There are no plans to a CGI version of Boseman in the new project.
Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke and Angela Bassett are all set to return for the new film. Additionally, Tenoch Huerta is in talks to star as one of the villains. No story details have been released at this time.
