Charmed Adds Transgender Actor J.J. Hawkins in New Role

The barriers continue to come down. According to Deadline, J.J. Hawkins will portray a Transgender character on Charmed!

Hawkins is a Transgender male actor who uses the pronouns he/him and they/them. He will portray college student Kevin. The character gives one of the Charmed Ones the push she needs to take on a tough foe. He’ll be around throughout the season as the role is recurring.

The CW choosing to have authentic representation on Charmed is just in time for Trans Awareness week. Slowly, but surely progress is being made. Charmed stars Melonie Diaz, Madeleine Mantock, Sarah Jeffery, Ser’Darius Blain, Ellen Tamaki, Rupert Evans, Nick Hargrove, Jordan Donica, and Poppy Drayton. Constance M. Burge serves as showrunner.
