The world of film releases is changing rapidly. Deadline scoops the live action movies of Peter Pan and Wendy, Pinocchio and Cruella may be headed for Disney Plus.
The three films are reimagined version of the cartoon classics with major stars already attached. Cruella will feature Emma Stone and Emma Thompson. Tom Hanks and prolific director Robert Zemeckis are attached to Pinocchio. Lastly, Yara Shahidi and Jude Law have already been cast in Peter Pan and Wendy.
With theaters still shuttered in most major markets in the U.S., the studio is weighing its option. The plan right now is to really focus on direct to market releases, and Disney Plus. Warner Bros. is leading the charge by releasing Wonder Woman 1984 in theaters and on HBO Max simultaneously.
No word on if the films will be an additional charge or included in the normal subscription. Nothing is final at this time, but it’s an increasing possibility. Drop us a line in the comments on the shift streaming services!
