The opportunity to “Strike First” will come sooner than expected. Season 3 of Cobra Kai will debut one week earlier on January 1!

Originally, the third installment of The Karate Kid based series was to hit Netflix on January 8. However, the streamer decided to bump up the release of new episodes for the new year. It’s a smart business move considering many people will not have to work due to the holiday.

Cobra Kai’s official Twitter account dropped a fun video to correspond with the news. The not so computer literate Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) is shown scrolling Netflix and scoffs at Cobra Kai’s release date of January 8. He utters “Nah, Too Long” and changes the date to January 1.

Season 3 of Cobra Kai sees John Kreese (Martin Kove) take over Cobra Kai, while Miguel (Xolo Mariduena) fights for his life. Miyagi Do’s Robby (Tanner Buchanan) ends up in jail, and a pair The Karate Kid Part II characters return! Mortal enemies Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny realize they must work together to restore the peace.
