The vampires may be back from the dead! TVLine reports a True Blood reboot is in the works at HBO!
The original vampire series debuted on HBO in 2008. The series ran for 7 seasons and 80 episodes until 2014. The show took its source material from the Charlaine Harris novel series The Southern Vampire Mysteries.
Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Jami O’Brien will pen the script and co-executive produce the reboot. Original True Blood show creator Alan Ball will also serve as an executive producer.
No word on casting is available at this time. The series is currently in very early development. Aguirre-Sacasa has quite the penchant for the supernatural having been involved with Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Riverdale, and HBO Max’s upcoming The Shelley Society.
