A major change to the film industry is on the horizon. Variety reports Warner Bros. will debut its entire 2021 film line up on HBO Max!
As of right now, the studio has 17 films slated to air in 2021. They will all take the same approach as Wonder Woman 1984 and simultaneously be available in theaters and on HBO Max. This means Dune, The Matrix 4, The Suicide Squad, Tom and Jerry, Godzilla vs. Kong, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, Space Jam: A New Legacy, Mortal Kombat and nine other movies will all be viewable from the comfort of the couch!
Obviously, this is a huge blow to the movie theater industry. Keep in mind, Warner Bros. revolutionized the film industry once by creating talking pictures with 1927’s The Jazz Singer. Will they once again change the game by offering major blockbusters on demand on their streaming service?
With HBO Max now being the vehicle for theatrical releases, how will Netflix, Hulu and the other major streamers answer? Sound off in the comments on Warner Bros.’ drastic movie move!
