Jodie Turner-Smith Joins The Witcher: Blood Origin

A popular Netflix shows prequel series finds its leading lady. Deadline scoops Jodie Turner-Smith joining The Witcher: Blood Origin!

Turner-Smith will portray Éile, a top notch warrior with the voice of an angel. She leaves her home clan to join the Queen’s guard as a nomadic musician. However, a catastrophic event makes it necessary for her to return as a soldier. She seeks revenge for her people.

The prequel to The Witcher is set 1200 years prior to the original series. The new series is currently set for a six episode limited run. Declan de Barra is the showrunner and executive producer. The Witcher showrunner, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, will also execute produce the prequel. Book creator Andrzej Sapkowski serves as creative consultant.

The Witcher: Blood Origin in still in pre-production. There is currently no release date set at Netflix. The main series, The Witcher, will return to Netflix for season 2 later this year.
