A new face will appear on the TARDIS! Deadline reports John Bishop has joined the cast of Doctor Who!

Bishop will portray Dan in the upcoming season. He’ll be right next to the Doctor (Jodie Whittaker) and Yas (Mandip Gill), as they battle terrifying aliens and everything in between. It doesn’t take long for Dan to become involved in all of the Doctor’s journeys. He soon discovers the Universe is more than he could ever imagine.

Showrunner Chris Chibnall speaks on Bishop’s arrival as Dan. “It’s time for the next chapter of Doctor Who, and it starts with a man called Dan. Oh, we’ve had to keep this one secret for a long, long time. Our conversations started with John even before the pandemic hit. The character of Dan was built for him, and it’s a joy to have him aboard the TARDIS.

Missing from the ship will be Bradley Walsh and Tosin Cole. The duo left the series during the New Year’s Special. Bishop’s Dan will seemingly take their place on the TARDIS.

Doctor Who season 13 will debut in late 2021 on BBC and BBC America. Check out a preview of Bishop below!
