Another movie star heads to television. Chiwetel Ejiofor will headline Paramount Plus series Man Who Fell to Earth.
Ejiofor will portray the main alien who falls to Earth during a trying time. He must deal with the demons of his past to influence humanity’s future. The show takes its source material from the Walter Tevis novel of the same name. It also inspired the 1976 film starring David Bowie, which remains a cult classic.
The series will debut on Viacom’s streaming service Paramount Plus. It’s the new name for CBS All Access. Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet will serve as co-showrunner and executive producers.
The duo sound off on the series finding its lead. “Chiwetel Ejiofor’s stage and film career are staggering in their bravery, commitment and quality. He’s everything we could imagine and a million things we can’t. We couldn’t be more thrilled.”
Ejiofor has starred in Marvel’s Doctor Strange and will appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil and 12 Years a Slave.
