The zombies and monsters live again! Deadline reports the new Resident Evil reboot will debut in theaters on September!

The film is now set for a September 3 Labor Day release. This is normally a big box office weekend, but the Coronavirus pandemic leaves everything up in the air. Resident Evil is now against those bad boys of Jackass for the holiday weekend.

The story will follow the happenings in Raccoon City in 1998, much like the original video game from the same year. Kaya Scodelario, Hannah John-Kamen, Robbie Amell, Tom HopperAvan Jogia, and Neal McDonough round out the cast. Johannes Roberts pulls double duty as director and writer of the script.

This is the seventh film in the Resident Evil franchise!
