The family of spies are coming back! Deadline breaks the Spy Kids franchise is getting the reboot treatment!

2001’s Spy Kids was a huge hit for Spyglass Media and spawned 3 sequels. The production company has made a deal to option the rights for Spy Kids. The original film’s director Robert Rodriguez is returning for the relaunch. He is set to write and direct the movie.

While the plot is unknown at this time, the main focus will remain on a family of spy agents. Look for the new version to be multicultural! Skydance is the studio behind the project. Gary Barber and Peter Oillataguerre are attached to executive produce.
