Chloe Bennet, Dove Cameron & Yana Perrault Cast in The Powerpuff Girls

The Powerpuff Girls has cast its leads! According to Deadline, trio of sugar, spice and everything nice will be portrayed by Chloe Bennet, Dove Cameron, and Yana Perrault!

The live-action continuation of the popular 90’s animated series received a series order from The CW in August. Bennet, Cameron and Perrault will portray sisters Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup Utonium respectively.

Blossom is the perfect child with multiple degrees all grown up. Her crime fighter past has left her with unresolved anxiety, and the need to be alone. However, she will focus on trying to become a leader again.

Bubbles is still a sweetheart and more charming than ever. She’s tough, but desires to reclaim her fame more than anything. It’s more important than saving the world for a time, but things may change.

Buttercup works harder than the others to shed her old Powerpuff girl image. She was once a rebel, but is more sensitive than she lets on. Her main goal is to discover her identity outside of being a former child superhero.

Diablo Cody and Heather Regnier serve as co-creators and writers of the series. Maggie Kiley directed the pilot. The Powerpuff Girls takes its source material from the Cartoon Network series of the same name by Craig McCracken. The series is currently in pre-production.
