F9 Shifts Dates Again

F9’s premiere date is taking a Tokyo drift style-swerve. According to Deadline, F9 will now debut in later in the summer.

The most recent debut for the 9th film in the Fast and the Furious franchise was set for May 28th! This is already after several moves to due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Now, look for Dom (Vin Diesel) and his family to race into theaters on June 25, 2021.

Apparently, the reason for the latest shift is the major overseas markets. Universal is waiting to see if things improve before releasing one of their guaranteed blockbusters. Additionally, New York theaters are opening this Friday and Los Angeles might not be far behind. This could possibly mean more eyes physically going to the theater to watch for the studio!

F9’s new weekend in June pits it again Sony’s highly anticipated film Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage. In the battle of action vs comic book characters, who will come on top? Let us know in the comments!

F9 was originally slated to premiere in May 2020 before it was originally pushed back to April 2021 before delayed again to May 2021. In light of global efforts to vaccinate as many people as possible, it has yet to be seen if F9 actually premieres in June.
