
The CW’s newest superhero officially has been cast! Ava DuVernay announced, via Twitter, that Kaci Walfall will portray the title role in Naomi!
The series will follow the tale of the 2019 comic book Naomi: Season One, which was co-written by Brian Michael Bendis and David F. Walker. Naomi is an adopted teen from a small Northwestern town with a superhero future. She’s incredibly smart with a cool and calm attitude. A supernatural event rocks her city, and she must figure out how it happened. As she comes upon the truth, it reveals new things about her origin and the real nature of superheroes.
DuVernay’s tweet gave a some details on Walfall, and dropped a few more additions to the cast. “She’s 16 and wildly talented. I’m fortunate to be working with her, along with our new cast members Cranston Johnson, Camila Moreno and Alexander Wraith.” Also, she reveals Amanda Marsalis will direct. DuVernay and Jill Blankenship will serve co-writer and executive producer the pilot.
