Donald Faison Cast as Father of Powerpuff Girls

Even superheroes need a Dad! According to Deadline, Donald Faison has been cast as Professor Drake Utonium in The CW’s reboot Powerpuff!

The good professor is good looking, smooth and highly intelligent. He’s a little on the conceited side, but he’s extremely proud of his daughters. They are his greatest creation. Over the years, their relationship is much different than it was when they were children. He will try to fix what has been broken between them while battling a mid-life crisis.

Powerpuff features former child superheroes Blossom (Chloe Bennet), Bubbles (Dove Cameron) and Buttercup (Yana Perreault) as they delve into their 20s. The young ones are quite jaded over not having a childhood to fight crime. Will they be able to work through their issues to once again save the world?

Diablo Cody and Heather Regnier co-wrote the new series. Maggie Kiley is set to direct. The show is based on the original 90s Cartoon Network animated series by Craig McCracken.
