The two men behind HBO’s smash hit series Game of Thrones are throwing their hat into the producer game. D.B. Weiss and David Benioff are set to develop a feature film based on the graphic novel Lovecraft for Warner Bros. Studios per The Hollywood Reporter.
Lovecraft follows the life of H.P. Lovecraft and his off the wall horror short stories including “The Rats in the Walls” and “The Call of Cthulhu”. While the official plot of the film is unknown, there is wide speculation it will feature the thought of Lovecraft’s strange creatures being real instead of imaginary.
Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi, who co-wrote Clash of the Titans (2010), are set to compose the script. There is no director currently attached to the film, but the former Game of Thrones showrunners may possibly take on the task. The duo signed a very lucrative deal with Netflix earlier in the year.
