Epix–the cable channel you may not be subscribed to, or even heard of–is giving TV watchers a reason to subscribe.

The premium cable network has released its first trailer for its upcoming TV series, War of the Worlds, based on the science fiction novel by H.G. Wells.

The suspenseful trailer trailer almost gives one a The Walking Dead Season 1 intensity vibe.

Tom Cruise starred in the 2005 War of the Worlds big screen adaptation. Epix’s War of the Worlds stars Gabriel Byrne, Elizabeth McGovern, Lea Drucker, Adel Bencherif, Natasha Little, Guillaume Gouix, Bayo Gbadamosi and Daisy Edgar-Jones.
