Say it ain’t so! The 100 showrunner Jason Rothenberg sounds off on THAT shocking death via his official Twitter.

Major spoilers ahead in case anyone is behind on The 100! Sadly, Bellamy (Bob Morley) met an untimely death in the 13th episode of the season. His intention to give Madi’s (Lola Flanery) notebook of sketches from what she remembers of the Flame did not sit well with Clarke (Eliza Taylor). Clarke ends up shooting Bellamy dead, and leaves through a portal to save her friends on another planet.

If there was any uncertainty of Bellamy’s death, Rothenberg clears it up in his Tweet. “We knew Bellamy’s death had to go to the heart of what the show is all about: Survival. Who you’re willing to protect. And who you’re willing to sacrifice. His loss is devastating, but his life and his endless love for his people will loom large and affect everything that comes after, to the very end of the series finale itself. We thank Bob for his beautiful work over these long years and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”

May we meet again! Check out Rothenberg’s full farewell tweet below!
